How to create a wallet

In this article, I will guide you on how to create a wallet using TanglePay. If you are a first-time user, you will need to create a wallet.

  1. Download and install the . If you are using a mobile device, you can visit the and select the Android or iOS version based on your device. Alternatively, you can search for "TanglePay" directly on the Google Play Store or App Store to find the app.

  2. Once installed, click on "Add Wallet" on the extension.

  1. You will be prompted to select a network. The available options are:

  • IOTA Mainnet

  • Shimmer Mainnet

  • EVM (Shimmer Testnet / BSC / MATIC)

  • IOTA Devnet

  • Shimmer Beta

Please refer to the descriptions and usage scopes for each network below.

Network Descriptions:

  • IOTA Mainnet: The main network for IOTA transactions and interactions.

  • Shimmer Mainnet: The main network for the Shimmer protocol.

  • IOTA Devnet: A development network for testing and experimentation.

  • Shimmer Beta: A beta version of the Shimmer network for early adopters.

Note: For Shimmer EVM, there are several network options available for switching, including Shimmer Testnet, BSC (Binance Smart Chain), and MATIC (Polygon). They all share the same wallet address.

  1. If you don't see the desired wallet network, ensure that your settings are correct. To do this:

  • Click on "Me."

  • Click on "Settings."

  • Click on "Advanced."

  • Make sure that all three support toggles are enabled.

  1. After clicking "Add Wallet," select "Create Wallet."

  1. Set a wallet name and password, then click "Create Wallet."

  1. Click "Next."

  1. Your backup mnemonic phrase will be displayed. These words are essential for wallet recovery, so make sure to record them in the correct order. Keep them securely stored.

  1. You can choose to go directly to your wallet by selecting "Go to the wallet."

Congratulations! Your wallet has been successfully created.

EVM (Shimmer Testnet / BSC / MATIC): An EVM-compatible network for testing on Shimmer, Binance Smart Chain (BSC), and Polygon (MATIC). You can click to get faucet.
